Every RX series grand piano possesses a unique sound quality and fine touch that fulfills performing pianists' requirements. All models feature a tapered soundboard, providing richer sustaining power for bass and treble. In order to provide the ideal hammer, which is hard inside but soft outside, refinements have been made in the processing method. The plate is polished with a clear finish which will retain its shine over time. By the time it leaves the factory, every Kawai RX grand piano has been checked and rechecked literally hundreds of times. Although it takes a great deal of time and personal dedication to build pianos this way, the spirit of Kawai would be satisfied by nothing less. The RX treble bridges are vertically laminated and capped. Treble bridges consist of 13 layers of hard maple and mahogany for maximum strength and optimal transfer of sound energy from strings to soundboard. Even the slightest changes in hammer alignment will compromise both tone and touch. The RX Series design features ensure precise and stable alignment for optimum performance.
